We are Albert Lea
Blue Zones Project is a community-wide, evidence-based approach to improving health and well-being that makes healthier choices easier for everyone living in and around Albert Lea and Freeborn County, Minnesota.
When the entire community participates, small changes contribute huge benefits for all of us: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and a higher quality of life.
While many traditional health initiatives focus on diet and exercise programs, we focus on changing our community’s culture and environment so individuals are nudged into making healthy choices. We take a systematic approach to improving well-being through policy, building design, social networks, and built environment across all sectors of our community. By optimizing the places that we live, work, and play, we can make the healthy choices the easy choices so we naturally adopt healthy behaviors and have the opportunity to LIVE LONGER, BETTER®.
